Born in Ludhiana, Punjab, Simar Gill is an emerging Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) athlete in Melbourne. Among the very few Australian Punjabis to pursue the sport, he is working to raise awareness about MMA within the community and encourage more young people to get involved. Speaking to SBS Punjabi, he shared that while his family was initially hesitant about him taking up such an intense sport, they have now become his biggest supporters.
