So welcome to the Bea Bold in Business podcast, and I cannot wait for you to take your invitation to be bold in your business too. OK, today I want to talk to you about sharing your client wins and social proof, why to do it, how to do it, and when to do it, and also some of the objections that people have around sharing them. There's this real feeling of, I didn't get the result they did, I don't want to take credit for something that's not mine, I don't want it to feel like icky or forced, I don't know when to share it, so it doesn't just seem like it's like a tactic, and all of these things that come up when we think about sharing social proof, and there are so many blocks around, well, is it our context, am I sharing it in the right way, and all of those things that come up. So if you've ever had this feeling of, how should I share my client wins, or how should I share social proof, and how do I make sure that it's about them and not me, and I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to claim their results, or anything like that, then this is going to be a really, really good training for you, and also just hopefully put some things into perspective when it comes to why these things matter, why and how you can use these in your business to actually make a positive impact.
So the first thing that I really want to address is this fear, and this worry of, but I don't want to try and create, I don't want to try and claim these results as my own, I don't want people to feel like I'm claiming these as mine. And that's a really big concern for so many, I don't want it to look like it's because of me, they got the results, because they have to do the work, etc. So something that I really want to talk to is that point, first of all. Now, of course, and this is something that I stand by, my clients have to do the work if they want to see change, they have to.
My clients have to do the actual work if they want to see results. However, when I share the client wins, I am sharing to celebrate my client. So that's the first reframe. When you are sharing your client wins, you're not sharing to claim their results, you are sharing to celebrate the client.
And that's a huge thing for me, I want to always be celebrating my clients. I want to celebrate the work they do, I want to celebrate their results, I want to celebrate the progress they're making. So the first reframe that I would give you is that, understanding that when you're sharing your social proof, you're sharing your client's wins, you're not sharing them to say, I did that and I'm the reason, you're sharing to say, this is what's possible and I'm so damn proud of my client. And the second part of that is to also look at, and this is the thing, and obviously being a qualified coach, being a qualified teacher, having a degree in education, I'm very aware that in all of those situations, whether it's getting the grades for a GSA or A levels, whether it's getting the results in your business, the student or the client must do the work.
But a lot of the time, the reason they do that work is because they have someone there supporting them, holding them accountable, seeing and tweaking the things that they can't see for themselves, creating quality questions, holding space for them, giving them ideas, redirections, creating change and giving them support. And that is why when I share my client wins, of course I celebrate them as my clients, but I also recognize the impact of being in my space and having me as a mentor can have for my clients. I don't do the work for them, no, but I do sit with them and they're going for challenges, hold space for them when they feel lost or they want to create something new, they go through up levels, answer questions that they have, create strategies, bring in simplicity, redirect them when they get lost over while I'm distracted, create accountability. All of those things are really important for my clients.
So when you're looking at this in terms of number one, the first block, I don't want to claim their results as my own and how do I share this in a way that is organic and looks like it's connecting, well, they're the two things for me. So you're celebrating your clients, but also you're recognizing you do have a part to play in that process. And this is never about me saying, hey, lovely, this is never about me saying if they work with me, this can happen, but this is about me saying, working with me enables my clients to get to answers and solutions quicker and more efficiently, to create and have support and accountability in a way that they wouldn't have on their own and to have access to someone that has done this and continues to do this for themselves. So we can speed these things up.
We can make sure that what you're doing is intentional and purposeful and is creating a result that you want. So that's the first thing I just wanted to talk to. The second thing I wanted to talk to is, oh, but you know, what if the testimonial, what if the piece of content I share is taken out of context? You know, I don't want someone to claim that it's just because of them.
Now here's the thing. The first thing I want to say to that is any of my clients, any of my clients would never say I'm trying to claim their result, OK, they wouldn't, because we have a relationship, is a trusted safe space for them and they acknowledge me as part of their journey. And I would never, when I'm sharing a context, try and create a situation that is out of context of what we've spoken about. So of course with all of you, I'll give you the highlights.
Hey, lovely, hey, Holly. Of course I will give you the highlights and I will say this is what they've done. But what's really important for me is I do, and this might be a good tip for you, I will also share when I've supported a client with something outside of just creating a making more money or selling out or scaling their business, whether it is navigating through health, Covid managing different family dramas and looking at grief, you know, all of this. So I will share that with you.
I will do stories on it. I'll create content around saying, no, no, I'm here to help my client as a whole. And I shared, you know, I had a client that was working with me going for a really difficult time and this is now where she's at. So if you're sharing context, it's, remember the reason you're sharing context for your community is so that they can see the journey and the relationship someone goes to when they're working with you and to see the approach that you have when you're working with your clients.
So the first two things, I don't want to share a testimony using case people think I'm claiming them as my own, like sharing client wins. And I don't want to share client wins out of context because what if then, you know, people think of it this way the other way. The other thing that's really important when you're sharing your social proof is it's a really good opportunity for you to showcase and validate what it is that you are doing. So people can see on the inside, people on the outside can see what happens on the inside.
We've really cleared tangible changes. It doesn't matter what your business is, by the way, if you're having people over time anxiety, which is my first business, it's my first business, I did this and it wasn't a tangible business. It wasn't around making more money. It wasn't about scaling your business.
It was about anxiety, mind it. So you can do this in any business. Sharing social proof is a great way to give people in your community an extra layer of trust and credibility for what you do and who you are, but also an insight into why and how this can work for them. People can visualize the changes that can happen because they're seeing it in your clients.
So how, why I'm when to actually share your social proof, to share your client wins? For me, I do this daily. If someone messages me a client win, I will share it there and then. It's something that I believe for me is really good practice.
It means I'm always in that momentum. I'm sharing it as it happens. I'm in that energy. So that's important in terms of when, as often as you can, just try and share it so it becomes just a constant conversation.
It doesn't need to be this big thing. You don't need to have amazing graphics for it. You don't need to just do it once a week in a carousel or once a month. You can just share them whenever.
Make it just part of the organic experience when people are on your platform. Something that's celebrating your clients is just something that happens all the time. It's just a consistent experience. And the other thing that's really important is, of course, people can go off and work with other people at the same time as working with you or finish working with you and work with someone else.
You know, of course, and that's a good thing to celebrate as well. People investing in learning from you and from others. It also shows that they value their own growth. That doesn't mean that what you're doing is a good enough or is a working because I see this as well.
People have this fear that if someone is working with them, they should only work with them. But if somebody was working with me and also was working with someone else in a very specific area, whether it was like paid marketing or something like that, or PR, that would be amazing. I would celebrate my clients for wanting that continued growth. But that also is something to celebrate.
Being able to understand that people are seeing the benefits of working with people to help them with specific things. So I just want to share that as well. It doesn't in any way discredit the results and the client wins that you share if they're working with someone else as well because you're part of their journey. And if a client is part of that journey and you're part of that experience, then it's a shared experience to celebrate together.
You know, so my coach or mentor, if I was to share my wins, they would be celebrated. And it's because they are part of my journey. I'm part of their journey, just like I am with my clients. So the next thing that I really want to talk to is also why, why do you share them?
Now, a lot of people have this fear around, oh, but I don't want to share my client wins just because I'm selling something. I don't want it to seem like it's like a marketing trick. And I'm just selling, I'm just sharing them so people want to work with me. And then people get bored.
Now, here's the thing. I wouldn't tend to just share 20 tests of my using one guy when I'm selling something, for example, because I want it to be in every day occurrence. And you'll see this. If you follow my stories, you follow my rules, my posts, my guides, you'll see that I'm sharing client wins all the time.
So that means when I am selling something, it just becomes part of the foundations. It becomes part of the foundations of what people can expect. But it also allows me to mirror to potential clients the expectation that I have of a potential client. I expect my clients to do the work.
I expect my clients to commit to their own success. I expect my clients to want this more than I want it for them. I expect my clients to come with ideas, to use their initiative, to innovate, to create, to be willing to try, to be willing to grow, to be willing to trust the process, to be willing to fail. I expect this with my clients.
And these are the types of people that then come into my world, because I'm then showcasing results that happen. I'm also showcasing the value of these clients. So I don't want to do that just when I'm selling. I want to do that consistently.
So when I am in a period of promotion, people know what to expect. So why would you share your client wins and social proof? Because it also really demonstrates the type of people and person that you want to work with. And that's always going to have a benefit for you.
The other reason why is, and we spoke about this, is it does accelerate the trust and credibility. Another reason why is it can also solidify a relationship with a client when they feel like they're being acknowledged. We all want to feel acknowledged. We all want that.
We all want to feel seen and heard. So if you have someone celebrating you and celebrating your wins, that's such an amazing feeling. So it can solidify the relationship you have with your client. Number four, it also allows you to create a really organic experience around what you want to build your business around.
You want to be building your business around the impact you can have for people. I'm sure of that. I'm sure that you are not spending time on social media, just to be on social media. You want to be on social media to talk to your dream clients, to attract them and to work with them, so that you can make an impact and they can make an impact in the world.
You want to be creating that ripple effect. So the way that you will do that is by showing people what happens when they do that. So it's also really important to just make sure that you are redefining the landscape of your online presence, so that your platform becomes a place for transformation, a platform for celebration, a platform for acknowledging your clients and their progress, their work, their wins, whatever it might be. So why, that's the second reason why you would actually share your client wins.
The third reason you would share your client wins, sorry, that's a fourth reason. The fifth reason to share your client wins is to also allow you to fully step up and embody and acknowledge yourself in the work that you do. And it's going to be really, really difficult. If we're constantly dismissing ourselves in the process of being a coach and a mentor, if you are in the coaching and mentoring space in that service space, you will recognize that it's a two way thing.
So if you are not acknowledging yourself, if you're not acknowledging the work that you are doing and the experiences that you are creating and that you are part of and you're co-creating with people, you're also dismissing yourself. So the other reason that it's really important, the fifth reason that's really important to actually share your client wins is it's a really good acknowledgement to yourself for the work that you're doing, the impact that you're having, the people that you get to work with. So sharing testimonials and sharing client wins, it doesn't need to become this kind of strategic selling strategy, it doesn't need to become something that you feel awkward around. And this is also where you need to think about a line with the right clients.
You know, I think none of my clients have ever not wanted to be celebrated. So, but of course, I will always keep my client wins anonymous. This is important for me, so I don't tag my clients when I share their wins and I take out anything that links to them personally. There are a few reasons I do that.
One, if they want to share their win, I want them to do it. And if they want to acknowledge me and that themselves and tag me, great. The other thing is, if I then talk about a client in another context, which I shared with you about maybe they're going for a challenge or something to come up, I don't want anyone watching to be able to put two and two together and then know which client I'm seeking about. So, I like to have that protection from my clients and that, you know, ambiguity.
So that one, their celebration is still between us, but you just get to become part of it without knowing who they are. And two, if I then support them in another way outside of their wins, that can also be safe and sacred as well. So, there are so many ways that you can share your client wins without becoming this big, you know, this big official event. So, I hope that this is useful for you.
If you have questions around it, you've got things that you want to ask me around this, around how you can share your client content, your client wins, your testimonials, what you can do to build your social proof, please, please let me know. And you can also see me do this on my social media. If you find my Instagram, you'll see me model this all the time. So, if you want some ideas, some examples, I shared that with you constantly.
So, you can use my platform as a guide as well of how to share, what to share, when to share it. So, oh, yay, thank you, Holly. So, yeah, I just really, really hope this gives you a bit of an insight as to why this is important and can be important for you in your business. So, more trainings to come, obviously.
And I will see you very, very soon for our next training. Have an amazing, amazing day.
