Why should I be REFERRED to another hospital? - The Truth and the Lies

REFERRAL! I have lost count of how many times patients, and sometimes, their relatives, beg not to be referred - they perceive that the ONLY reason for the referral is because the patient's condition has worsened. As much as I hate to admit this perception MAY be true SOMETIMES, it is not ALWAYS the case! Referral is a delicate balance between what a hospital is capable of doing (in terms of workforce, available skills and facilities) and the medical need of each patient. Once there's a disparity... an action must be taken😊! And Yes, in this episode, I had to touch on FIRST AID.
