Media literacy is now a required subject in K-12 schools in California, and New York State is set to follow suit. Honestly, I can’t think of a worse idea. While I fully support the need for media literacy, state-mandated courses feel like a recipe for disaster. We dive into why these concepts should be left to parents or other caring adults to teach, rather than imposed by political agendas.
