Why the INFJ Struggles With Friendship | 4 Tips to Thrive

from Geek Psychology: Play Life Better

Send me a textIf you're an INFJ, you probably know how hard it is to find friends who match your level of intellectual curiosity and sensitivity. You've got a lot of things going on in your brain, and you don't always have the words to explain them—which is why it can be so frustrating when people don't get what you're trying to say.As an INFP myself, I know how high of expectations we can have for ourselves and others - especially in the domains that are important to us. It's easy to get caught up in our expectations, but we need to be patient with the people in our lives. We're not always going to understand other people or where they're coming from, just as they won't always understand us—but this doesn't mean that the relationship is doomed. Relationships, like everything else meaningful in life, take effort to shape into what we want. It's important for INFJs like yourself to remember that you have high standards because you're trying to find someone who meets your ideals—someone who is compassionate, understanding, intelligent, and supportive. And while it can be frustrating when people don't meet these expectations, it's also important to remember that everyone has flaws and no one is perfect.Be sure to check out other people who are INFJs as well - like Frank James and Joyce Meng on YT - that can give you more insight into your personality type and inspiration.Don't be intimidated by the fact that you are the rarest type and your traits cause issues - because they are also the reason that the world needs you! Don't slam that door on the world :PThat being said, there are some steps you can take if you find yourself struggling with loneliness as an INFJ:0:00 Intro0:30 Who are INFJs?2:30 Follow your hobbies and passions, look for friendship in those circles3:28 Surround yourself with the right people, kick out the people who start problems4:59 Seek out opportunities to help others, create friendships5:44 Get professional help and advice if you need help dealing with the frustration6:15 Next steps for INFJ types#infj****Connect and Support Geek Psychology #geekpsychology ****FREE 8 Hero Personality Assessment: https://geekpsychology.com/ Support the Show.
