As things ramp up into a crescendo, after wrapping up His last teaching that was filled with language of warning and the power and glory of His second coming we are almost immediately met with the reality of what Jesus came to do. We are getting closer to the Passover meal and ultimately the death of Jesus and Jesus takes the time to remind the disciples of what must happen as they are together sharing a meal.
