Why this is an easier time of year to search for Great Horned Owls
from Journal of a Songbirder · host Songbirding Studios
The gist of it is: if you're in an area with Great Horned Owls present, go out at dusk around this time of year and list for the screams/screeches of juvenile Great Horned Owls. They are very frequent with these calls until they are comfortable hunting on their own. Much, much more frequent than "hooting" adults. Here's a link to a clip from my livestream where we were listening to some:https://www.twitch.tv/songbirder/clip/SwissShakingTrayWTRuck-VbYLopZni2lgr5U0Support Journal of a Songbirder by contributing to their tip jar: https://tips.pinecast.com/jar/journal-of-a-songbirderThis podcast is powered by Pinecast.
