Why We Meet With Our Client(s) Alone
from Elder Law Issues
If we are asked to prepare documents for someone, we will insist on meeting with that person — alone. We don’t doubt that your intentions are good, but your father (or mother, or sister, or neighbor) will be our client, and we must insist on making sure we hear their voice, not yours or someone else’s. Also, we want to be able to testify in any future case that it’s our regular practice, and we always meet alone with our client.
