Why You NEED To Warm Up And How To Do It

from Grit Fitness and Performance Podcast · host Chris Sanchez

Ah, the warmup. No one actually likes to do it. In fact, a lot of you out there DON'T do it. Maybe it's because you're pressed for time. Maybe it's because you're lazy. Who knows! But the warmup before your workout is like Scottie Pippen to Michael Jordan. It doesn't quite get the credit it deserves, but it sure does allow you to kick some major ass during your workout. Many fitness enthusiasts out there just remain blissfully unaware of some of the incredibly beneficial things that happen in your body during a warmup. Things that when skipped out on really hinder your ability to hit your full potential. So in this episode, we're going to let you know all the wonderful things that happen during a proper warmup, the guidelines you should follow when doing so, and give an example of what a potential warmup might look for the regular person. And I know I said I wasn't sure how to add links to stuff in this episode (spoiler), but alas, I do. Here's a sample warmup you can do before your workouts that follow a lot of the guidelines laid out in this episode. And if for some reason that link doesn't work, here's one you can copy and paste.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcQRpjyAllYSupport the show
