As Christians, 2 Corinthians 10:5 says we're supposed to "take every thought captive to obey Christ," but we're steeped in the world and its thoughts for most of the day, every day. Thinking well, wisely and biblically takes work. Not everyone needs to go out and get a philosophy or theology degree, but we should all learn to think more like a philosopher. And if this is true for us, it's also true for our kids. After all, they'll be here after we're gone, and they'll shape the world according to the ideas we helped to instill in them. With that in mind, it's obvious that our work today in helping them to think like philosophers—rooted in the word of God—can go a long way tomorrow.
