Why Your Dogs Eat Poop on Walks Plus Why They Get Into the Trash When You Leave Home

from Rescue Tails · host Nihal Salah

In this episode, I chat with Kristin Neal about why our dogs eat poop and what to do about it. We also talk about why some dogs will rip apart the trash as soon as their guardian goes out even if they’ve eaten. Kristin is a certified veterinary technician and force free dog trainer. She has extensive experience and training in dog and cat anaesthesia, surgical nursing, nutrition, behaviour and rescue work. She is an avid horse lover and trains her horse with force free methods, as well. Kristin has a strong belief in taking a holistic approach to animal care and feeding, and supports keeping animals in a biologically appropriate manner. Her unifying passion is improving quality of life for companion animals and their people.Links we Love  🧡 Here is the research Kristen mentioned on the show: The paradox of canine conspecific coprophagyhttps://ucdavis.pure.elsevier.com/en/publications/the-paradox-of-canine-conspecific-coprophagyFor more on the latest research on dog nutrition, check out CANWI - Companion Animal Nutrition & Wellness Institutehttps://canwinstitute.org/ If you’re interested in a workshop with Kristen, contact me on [email protected] For more content like this and to be part of the Rescue Tails community, come join the Rescue Tails group on Facebook!
