Why your style still doesn't match who you are (even after years of investing in yourself))

from The Anna Rova Show · host Anna Rova

Rachel came to my masterclass a few weeks ago. She's been investing in style for years. She knows her body shape. She knows her colors. She knows how to put an outfit together. And yet.Something still didn't click. After the masterclass I messaged her and asked: what's still missing? Her answer stopped me."I realized that although I have a lot of knowledge about style, I don't really know who I am."She'd moved into retirement two years ago. Her life had shifted. And her wardrobe - full of all the right things - no longer felt like her. This is the thing most stylists won't tell you.You can know everything about style and still feel completely lost in your closet.Because the problem was never the clothes. It was the gap between who you were and who you are now.I see this with almost every woman who comes to me. A promotion. A retirement. Children grown and gone. A new relationship. A version of yourself you haven't quite caught up to yet.The wardrobe didn't fail you. The identity shift happened and the clothes didn't follow. Here's what I also told Rachel - and what I want to tell you:You don't have to spend months in therapy or years in personal development before you're "ready" to work on your style. The style discovery process is the identity work.I watched Fern - 51, kids grown, government job, secret dream of opening a yoga studio - go through this in two months. We built her a capsule on a tight budget. Maybe 10 to 12 pieces. Two weeks later she messaged me:"Anna. I think I'm finally doing the yoga studio."Not because I gave her a lookbook. Because she put on the leather pants and the blazer she'd always wanted but never gave herself permission to wear. And she saw herself differently. That's what this work does.I recorded a short 13-min audio (actually, it was a video first but I had a bunch of technical problems so now it's a podcast!) going deeper on all of this - Rachel's story, why knowledge about style isn't enough, and what actually creates the shift. If it resonates - if you recognize yourself somewhere in Rachel's story - I want you to know I have 2 spots open for 1-1 styling work right now. This is the deepest, fastest work I do. One woman. Full focus. We close the gap between who you are now and how you show up in the world. If you're ready to have that conversation, book a call with me here: https://calendly.com/annarova/discoveryIt's one hour. No obligation. Just an honest conversation about where you are and whether this is the right next step.AnnaP.S.
