Wide-Eyed Creation: Crafting Your World, From Page to Stage with John Hegley

Ceri is joined by poet, comedian and musician John Hegley. From busking to the big stage, John reflects on finding inspiration in everyday objects, overcoming challenges of fame, and the importance of mental well-being. He opens up about his own battles with depression and how connecting and creativity aided his recovery. Listen in to this episode as he unpacks evolving creative pursuits - from visual art to lyrical translation aimed at forging a human connection and even gives an exclusive musical performance on mandolin to finish! KEY TAKEAWAYS Creativity can be found in humble everyday items - inspiration is all around us. Busking and street performing built confidence and taught adaptability. Fame and visibility bring mental health challenges that require active care. Finding your tribe and connecting creatively is deeply healing. Staying open to learning new skills keeps creativity fresh. Collaboration with others brings great artistic joy. Gratitude for creativity's gifts is just as important as the output.
