Widespread snow for the West, sneaky storms for the East

A weather pattern favoring fast-moving storms and just enough cold air could allow snow to fall before, during and just after Christmas in parts of the Northeast.Record-challenging warmth is forecast to bring springlike or even summerlike temperatures to a large part of the country this holiday weekend.
