WIL Talk #35 Marc Hull-Jacquin, Founder & Executive Director of Shelter Movers
from WIL Talk (Women in Leadership Talk) · host Vicki Bradley
This episode of the WIL Talk podcast is a story of hope, courage, and action. Marc Hull -Jacquin is a passionate social justice leader who founded, Shelter Movers, in order to change the patterns and empower those struggling with domestic abuse. In studying gender-based violence, he was struck by how difficult and dangerous it can be for survivors to leave their abusers. His approach in following the lead of the abused has enabled Shelter Movers to successfully relocate over 1600 families annually but the need is much greater. Currently, in Canada alone 91,000 individuals are in need of safe relocation from an abuser and the pandemic has only amplified that need. Marc shares with us how we can all take part in some way to support and break the patterns. Please share this episode with those you think need to hear the message, whether that be with how to leave an abuser, or for those who would be interested in volunteering or providing some type of financial contribution. Thank you Bonhill Group for sponsoring this episode of WIL Talk podcast.
