Wild Is The Wind

<3 Legend Nina Simone, born Eunice Kathleen Waymon; February 21, 1933 was an American singer, songwriter, pianist, arranger, and activist in the Civil Rights Movement. Simone employed a broad range of musical styles including classical, jazz, blues, folk, R&B, gospel, and pop. Born in North Carolina, the sixth child of a preacher, Nina Simone aspired to be a concert pianist. With the help of a few supporters in her hometown of Tryon, North Carolina, she enrolled in the Juilliard School of Music in New York. Nina then applied for a scholarship to study at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where she was denied despite a well-received audition. Nina became fully convinced this rejection had been entirely due to racial discrimination. The sixth studio album by Nina Simone is Wild Is The Wind (1964). The album was compiled from several recordings that were left over from sessions (in 1964 and 1965) for previous Philips albums. <3 http://joy.org.au/magicportals/wp-content/uploads/sites/350/2017/10/Episode-37.mp3 Ep 37 00:01:19 – Nina Simone – I Love Your Lovin’ Ways 00:05:50 – Nina Simone – What More Can I Say 00:09:34 – Nina Simone – Lilac Wine 00:14:53 – Nina Simone – That’s All I Ask 00:18:16 – Nina Simone – Break Down And Let It All Out 00:21:28 – Nina Simone – Why Keep On Breaking My Hearts 00:24:09 – Nina Simone – Wild Is The Wind 00:31:41 – Nina Simone – Black Is The Colour Of My True Love’s Hair 00:36:00 – Nina Simone – If I Should Lose You 00:43:15 – Nina Simone – Either Way I Lose 00:45:54 – Nina Simone – Mood Indigo 00:48:19 – Nina Simone – Don’t Smoke In Bed 00:51:22 – Nina Simone – Good Bait 00:65:47 – Nina Simone – You’ll Never Walk Alone Transitional Audio Clips Nina Simone interview for BBCs Hard Talk – YouTube History Of The Civil Rights Movement – YouTube Martin Luther King Jr. I Have A Dream – YouTube The post Wild Is The Wind appeared first on Magic Portals.
