Wildcats Dominate Season Opener | Arizona Wildcats Football News

Arizona opens strong with a 35-7 win over Northern Arizona, extending their streak of season-opening victories to four. Quarterback Noah Fifita shined with two TDs and moved into the program’s all-time yardage ranks, while the defense dominated the run, forcing negative rushing yards and racking up five sacks led by Chase Kennedy. A late pick-six spoiled a potential shutout, but Arizona still built a commanding lead and held on. Three turnovers raised concerns after a ball-control-heavy season, but the team’s ability to score big in the second half was encouraging. Next up: a brutal Big 12 test against No. 14 BYU, who also opened with a statement win. The Wildcats have talent and flashes of excellence—but consistency and fewer mistakes will be key as the season heats up.
