Wilderness

from Flipping Tables · host Julie Sexton

Mark wrote his gospel at a swift pace. The action moves quickly and he is expecting us to put some things together. It seems he hopes we already know the Biblical narrative. So, when he begins with a prophecy throwback in chapter one verses two and three, he is expecting us to jump right in and run with him. There's a voice crying out in the wilderness. We meet John the Baptist in the wilderness preparing the way for the One who comes next. The One John doesn't even worthy to untie His sandals.  I talked about how religion can't turn us around. Religion is unsustainable. We discussed how everyone who takes refuge in religion will find themselves in need of a permanent table flip. We need the One John was preparing the way for. Twila and Kimberly both share some of their testimonies about how Jesus flipped the religion table in their lives. You will want to stay with us to here their baptism stories.  Mark 1:1-8 Flourishministry.com If you haven't already done so, don't forget to subscribe to my podcast.
