Wildfires West: Progress and Challenges | Las Vegas News

Wildfires rage across the West, but progress is being made: the Bug Fire near Reno is now 85% contained after merging with a smaller blaze, lifting evacuations and reopening schools. Meanwhile, the Stallion Fire east of it is 82% contained, with one small zone still under evacuation. Over 800 firefighters are battling both, using helicopters and retardant as flames push south and east through juniper-heavy terrain. Further south, the Mouse Meadow Fire on Nevada’s restricted test range has burned 52,000 acres and is 80% contained. Despite improvements, crews remain stretched thin as multiple fires demand urgent attention. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
