Our resident Wildstorm experts Joe David Soliz & Benjamin Murphy talk about the A god Somewhere – OGN and Ben gets an exclusive “live” interview with Steve Niles to discuss his upcoming X-files/30 Days of Night crossover. 00:00:34 – Joe welcomes everyone to Episode #6. He introduces Ben’s interview with Steve Niles and sets up our much anticipated review of the A god Somewhere OGN. 00:01:08 – Ben welcomes everyone to a semi-live interview from New Dimension Comics in Cranberry Twp, PA along with Steve Niles creator of 30 Days of Night. He’s nearing the end of his signing tour for his newest creation, Mystery Society. Sorry for any crazy background noise; I was recording this at a live signing with customers milling around and Steve and DJ Cy-Fi signing stacks and stacks of Mystery Society books. [Ben] 00:01:52 – How did you get your start in the industry? 00:03:37 – Who and/or what are some of your influences as a writer? 00:05:07 – You’ve got X-files/30 Days of Night releasing on July 14.  Did you initiate the crossover with X-files or was the idea presented to you by someone else? 00:06:22 -Did X-files creator Chris Carter have any input in this series?  If not, would you have liked to work with him on this project? 00:06:54 -The recent movie, “X-files: I Want to Believe” offered some closure of sorts to the series (In a post-credits scene, Mulder and Scully are seen rowing towards a tropical island).  Why revisit X-files now? 00:09:29 -Besides obviously following the two main stars of the series, what other references to X-files lore can fans expect? And also what about 30 Days of Night fans? 00:10:26 -The majority of your work seems to focus on the supernatural.  What is it for you personally that is appealing about the supernatural? Why horror Steve?! 😉 00:11:53 -Does the story in X-files/30 Days of Night allow for a sequel to this series? 00:12:05 -Are there any WSU characters/titles you would like to tackle? (My co-host Joe wants you to tackle Wetworks!) 00:13:09 -Joe loved your Spectre animated short which was released with the Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths Special Edition DVD.
