Will a proposed bill suck the fun out of riding on Mardi Gras floats?

from Newell Normand

A Louisiana legislator filed a bill that would criminalize reckless throws from parade floats. Rep. Sylvia Taylor authored Bill #HB 397 that would punish Mardi Gras float riders who “knowingly or negligently” throw objects in a manner foreseeable to cause injury. Violators would face a $500 fine, and those who cause injury could be fined up to $1K and up to six (6) months in jail. And the fine & imprisonment increase to at least $2K and between (1) and (3) years in jail if the victim is seriously injured. Joe Piacun, personal injury attorney, joins Newell to talk about the proposed bill.
