The billions of euros currently being pledged at recovery talks will not be enough to rebuild Ukraine.While the June 2026 Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk, Poland, secured roughly €10 billion across 160 new reconstruction agreements, this public funding is only a small down payment compared to the actual scale of the destruction.The latest joint Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment (RDNA5) released by the World Bank, the European Commission, the UN, and the Ukrainian government estimates that rebuilding Ukraine's economy will cost $588 billion (over €500 billion) over the next decade.
