Will Christianity adapt, or die on its homophobic hill?

The scientifically proven reality of LGBTQ people is butting heads with Christian dogma.  And (finally) winning. But even as 81% of Americans oppose anti-LGBTQ discrimination, the church is digging in its heels and doubling down on demonizing LGBTQ people, attacking retail stores for selling shirts with rainbows on them, and allowing Pastor Jason Graber, the Pastor from Spokane who says all LGBTQ people should be shot in the back of the head and hung from bridges, to function as the public face and voice of Christianity in America. Congregations are shrinking and being distilled down to their most radically outspoken members. Will Christianity adapt? Or will it go down like Major Kong in Dr. Strangelove, riding their own homophobic hate missile straight into the ground?
