Will Georgia Football Have An Elite Passing Offense In 2023? | Georgia Football 2023

from College Football with Sam · host Samuel Recker

Stetson Bennett leaves Georgia as the most decorated quarterback in Bulldog history, winning two National Championships, one SEC Championship, and breaking Georgia's record for passing yards in a single season in 2022. Offensive coordinator Todd Monken also has departed from the program, taking the same job in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens, who look to return to the playoffs after a disappointing past two seasons. However, despite key departures, Georgia returns plenty of talent and continues to nurture and develop successful players on both the offense and defense. Offensively, Georgia Football returns elite tight end Brock Bowers and wide receivers Ladd McConkey, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, and Arian Smith. In the trenches, the Georgia Bulldogs return starting center Sedrick Van Pran, guards Tate Ratledge and Xavier Truss and tackle Amarius Mims. Brock Bowers and Sedrick Van Pran are the best College Football players at their respective positions, while Arian Smith and Amarius Mims have elite athleticism. Because of elite players who make great tacticians, playmakers, and leaders, Georgia should have a Top 10 offense in College Football in 2023. I expect Carson Beck and Georgia to pass for over 300 yards per game, with Beck breaking Bennett's record for passing yards in a single season. Dominic Lovett and Ladd McConkey will make up what could be the SEC's best wide receiver room, and they will have a great quarterback throwing to them. The rushing game will likely take a step back because of the extra depth and explosiveness at the receiver and quarterback positions. The runningback room loses Kenny McIntosh but returns Kendall Milton and Daijun Edwards, who received significant playing time last year. Running the ball will still be an important aspect of Georgia's offense, but the passing game will become more of a threat at Georgia than it ever has in the Kirby Smart era.
