Will President Donald Trump jettison the Iran nuclear deal? (Parisa Hafezi)
from TrumpWatch with Jesse Lent · host WBAI 99.5fm, New York City's Pacifica radio station
Earlier this week at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, President Donald Trump took the opportunity of his first address to the General Assembly to rail against the Iran nuclear deal reached during President Barack Obama’s administration. “The Iran deal was one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into,” President Trump told the room of world leaders. “Frankly, that deal is an embarrassment to the United States and I don't think you've heard the last of it. Believe me.” Political analysts were practically unanimous in their belief that President Trump was signifying plans to find Iran in breech of a nuclear agreement negotiated by President Barack Obama and six other major nations in 2015, before the Oct. 15 deadline. On this week’s TrumpWatch, Jesse talks to Parisa Hafezi, chief Iran correspondent for Reuters, about where President Trump’s bluster towards Iran is leading us. Typically Based in Ankara, Turkey, Parisa is currently in New York City to cover the U.N. General Assembly and was in attendance for the President’s speech on Tuesday.
