The European Court of Justice (ECJ) is coming out with a ruling on the rule of law mechanism which was challenged by Poland and Hungary. After the ruling, the Commission will have to decide how to proceed with the mechanism. This while the election campaign in Hungary ramps up with the opposition fighting an uphill battle.
