The mayors of Boston, Chicago, Denver and New York City will testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee for a March 5 hearing on their sanctuary city policies, committee chair James Comer (R-Ky.) announced Wednesday.Comer has launched a probe into so-called sanctuary policies, which allows a jurisdiction to limit its cooperation with federal immigration enforcement officials. All four cities are led by Democrats — Michelle Wu of Boston, Brandon Johnson of Chicago, Mike Johnston of Denver and Eric Adams of New York City — and the committee has asked each of the mayors to provide the committee with materials around their policies.
