Will You Pull the Plug?

from Star Trek Resignation · host Kickers of Elves

Is this really the end? What will it take to get James and Hugh back on board with Season 2?  Your calls try to grapple with what happened this Season of Star Trek Discovery. Is there anything people should do if they're not fans of the show? Is it actually possible to, you know, not watch Star Trek?Lots of trying to figure out just what happened this Season.   Voicemails! Gabriel (not Lorca) on what Discovery is lacking. Especially when compared to DS9's "Duet" Bucky sighs. What must admiral Janeway think about the spore drive if she comes across classified materials? How to reconcile when something we love ends up being not so great?  Should we watch this show and hope for it to be better? What can be done to demand something better? What if we didn't watch next season. Stefan found some stuff that worked, but is also dissatisfied ultimately. Arguing the weak technobabble explanations. Kristin can't get invested in the emotional lives of a bunch of Jack Bauers. Greg on Discovery as a TNG Season 1 episode stretched out into a season of television. Eric is trying to understand how this all happened, and proposes The Checkbox Theory. Along with some #TeamWade positivity. Hugh is baffled. Tom is also a bit befuddled. What actually leads people to explore? Will that be explored at all in a season about faith vs science? What kind of stories do we need for the future? Kristin calls back! With the actual theme of the season: People: they're not great, but they're not that bad   The hotline is still up for The Rules of Acquisition.
