William Faulkner's Southern voice; Shutdown shenanigans; Salt and Light

The Bill of Rights was passed by Congress on this date in 1789, and would be ratified by the states two years later.  Nobel Prize-winner and Southern writer extraordinaire William Faulkner was born on this date in 1897. We hear part of his 1950 Nobel acceptance speech.
