ACAST.acast.com slash advertised. I'm a DELBARLO. Thanks for joining us. I just got back from a tour, and it was a solo tour for me.
I figured we'd better hit this mini-music Monday while I'm warmed up before I start just sitting around doing not nothing, but not singing for maybe a couple of days. Now it's been two full days since I haven't sang. Listen to my voice. It's all kind of nasally.
Do you lose it? I don't know. Do I? I worry about losing it.
I figure I carry some anxiety into a tour, worrying that my voice isn't good. Warmed up enough? Warmed up enough. I put a lot of stock into being warmed up.
My voice being warmed up and I'm pretty critical of my voice. Well, Pumpkin Pie just came in here. Where's your cat in here? Oh dear.
Oh boy, he's gonna screw shit up. Kid very well. That tail could just flap into something and knock something over. Step on the space bar.
He was like, what can I get into? He knows how to fuck stuff up. He really does. We really also put a lot of anxiety into putting up our Christmas tree.
I'm so scared of doing this Christmas tree this year. Yeah, same. I don't know if anyone remembers last year when my kid got started on Christmas tree. Pumpkin.
It was brutal because then you ended up in the ER because you got bit. It was a, oh Jesus. Wow. He's like, okay.
Pumpkin. Is he clung? Yeah. Pops.
Jesus. Okay. He made my chair a scratching post. It's crazy.
Pumpkin. You're fucking nuts dude. Get out. Sing for me baby.
Let me point the mic down. Here we go. Get yourself situated. I'm still got it.
Still got it. Still got it. Okay. That's all.
It's a classic way to end. Only want to be with you. Link. Yeah.
Sabado willing to wait off of Harmasy. Harmasy. Big news about Harmasy coming, 2026. All right.
Well, what do you got to say? Like on vinyl. Oh, nice. Okay.
My theory is that there's all kinds of Harmasy everywhere and there's no need to reissue it. But that's because I'm ambivalent about that album. We could talk about that later. But I had to listen to it yesterday because I'm starting to go through B sides for the record or for extra tracks for the record.
And you know. From the vault. From the vault. That's right.
I was in the vault yesterday. The Harmasy vault. How did that land? It wasn't too bad.
I really wasn't enjoying Jason Lowenstein's songs actually. The cover of Harmasy was a picture of a pharmacy in Ireland. Like without the P on the sign. So I just said Harmasy and Jason Lowenstein astutely snapped a photograph, an actual photograph of the pharmacy.
And that's how we got the title of the song. And you know, I played that song a lot on this last tour. Didn't I? Don't.
Off to requested. Off to requested. And then I realized that I had never played it for the. And this.
That seems surprising. I had never played it for the podcast. It seems surprising. And actually it seems kind of unbelievable.
So it's not in the list. I went over the list a couple of times, which really means nothing. I noticed so little and I. I.
I. I. I. I.
I. It could have sounded like soul and fire brand new level and you're like, well, didn't play it. I know. I don't.
I'm not. I'm getting to be less than well. And I always been not a very good not a good not a good not a good not a good not a good not a good but I went over the list a few times and I did not see what I did. I played it on this tour and I like to tell a story about it too.

Do you want to tell the story? The story is that it was almost they say they and I do grand say some pop records.
The promo department were hot on the trail of getting that song willing to wait to be Ross and Rachel's breakup song on friends. I don't know if you all are familiar with it. If you don't know for some crazy reason. Ross and Rachel broke up like had a final breakup, right?
I don't know. But they had a break. The right one of the series was kind of at its peak and they'd been this long. Did they end up together?
No, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I really don't remember.
Not to say that I didn't. I liked the show. I kind of liked it. Found a clever.
I enjoyed it. Found the characters likeable. But there was word that willing to wait was going to be the breakup song. And what I like to say is I wish I never fucking knew that.
I didn't think it was going to happen. I really didn't think it was going to happen. I mean, maybe it may be my bad vibes or what ruined it. Maybe I did not manifest it as I should have.
Maybe I'll let that go. Maybe it's my fault that it didn't take that on my bad energy. But I don't think so because I just didn't think it was I didn't think it was good enough. Well, it was an extremely popular show and you said they ended up using with or without you.
You too. And it's funny though, Irish band. Ireland. A little connections there, right?
Interesting. But I mean, let's be honest, that show I think at that point was so huge. You know what I mean? Like, I think the characters, the actors were getting paid like a million dollars an episode.
They were breaking barriers, whatever with like sitcom television and no offense to Sabato. But like for a main scene like that though, they probably were like they probably had someone really leaning on them like, yeah, we need like a really recognizable, song. And it's not to say that Willing to Wait wouldn't have been a perfect fit. But I'll be honest, I don't think texturally it would have fit.
Maybe not the recorded version. The recorded version was disappointing to me. And there was a lot invested in that song because that was the song that was released after natural one. So I there was there was an idea that Lou Barlow wrote hit songs.
You're a good maker. Like there was just a little blip there. And that was that was going to be the second one. And we there was a lot of energy, time and money devoted to that to the promotion of that song.
Becoming Ross and Rachel's breakup song, one of them. I mean, it would have been cool. It would have been cool. It would have been great.
I do think that maybe, you know, I actually think that TV shows could be more adventurous in their selection. I'll be honest because I do feel like I can get bored with what I hear when they pop songs in. I'm like, Hey, yeah, I like the Rolling Stones. But I heard that song on like, you know, it doesn't have to be that song.
There was there was a period when the OC, OC that television show was actually fairly experimental and they were for experimental. I think they were dangerous. They were known though. I think they were kind of known for that soundtrack.
Yeah. But I like to say, because I tell the little story like every night and I've yet to really tell the story well. I'll say that. And this could have been my opportunity to tell it well and to tell it in a funny way.
I failed again. Oh, this one. I think sometimes I tell it funny. Sometimes I get a few giggles when I explain that it could have been Ross and Rachel's breakup song.
I think I can. And then I liked it when I like to say it. And if it was Ross and Rachel's breakup song, I wouldn't be here right now. I wouldn't.
Right. We wouldn't be here. My wife wouldn't be behind the merch table. I wouldn't have a mortgage.
I'd like to think that you and I would have found each other through all of that noise. But yeah, you know, that would have been. I didn't know you then. You were you live in a whole other life.
Dear God, the royalties alone. Oh my God. Really? Oh my God.
The royalties from that would still be streaming in. I mean, mountains of money. But like back when you got real money for royalties, right? Because it's not the same thing with that.
Oh, no, it would still be replaced throughout the world. It continuously replaying. I'm just saying that royalties on that level, just never stop. It is an eternal flame that never goes out.
People still watch friends all over the world. I personally knew Phil Solum from the Rembrandts who they sang the opening song. So the long-term and I was going to be this way. Exactly.
From Minnesota. And went to a few parties at Phil's home that I think Friends bought. It was like I was like in the suburb I think of me. I can't remember.
But I mean, it was nice. And it was definitely like, yeah, I think Friends really like, yeah. That's it. You wrote that.
He's good. He honestly wouldn't have to do half to do anything. Yeah. Yeah.
I mean, I'd say he was probably comfortably living a life, possibly one. Okay. You could do okay forever. If you scored, if you got the thing.
I really felt like your song, the folk implosion song should have been on that show. You I was like, oh, it was just so perfect for it. What song were you talking about? That one, the when you and John did the two songs.
Remember? You've mentioned this before. I know I want to mention again because it was such a lost opportunity TV show you. With pen badge, badgerly, badly.
You're like a murdered dude. But yeah. Yeah. I also like to say with willing to wait is that the song is actually lyrically.
It's not the best. I don't know if it's advice, but I have to say, if you're if you're gonna wait for somebody, like maybe you shouldn't be waiting for them because I don't like you. Yeah. You're waiting for them to like you again.
She's not just that someone's just not that empty. Yes. And that's true. And that's a thing, you know.
Yeah. Yeah. That note. Music.
Maybe. Thank you for listening. The not the best advice. Raw impressions.
