Im Jahr 1974 - also vor jetzt beinahe 50 Jahren - gelang ihm mit dem Film “Alice in den Städten” der künstlerische Durchbruch - und seit den 1980er Jahren ist Wim Wenders international bekannt, um nicht zu sagen “weltberühmt”. Weitere prägende Filme von ihm sind beispielsweise “Paris, Texas” und “Der Himmel über Berlin”. Dieses Jahr erschien seine 3D-Dokumentation “Anselm - Das Rauschen der Zeit”, in der er den Künstler Anselm Kiefer porträtiert - sowie der Film “Perfect Days” über das Leben eines Toilettenreinigers in Tokio.
