Wind Direction
from The Sportsman's Light · host Patrick
No serious deer hunter ignores the wind. You can't see it, but you'd better respect it — checking it obsessively, planning every approach around it, because the invisible current decides everything. The hunter who fights the wind loses. The one who works with it wins.Jesus told Nicodemus that the Spirit of God moves like wind: invisible, sovereign, undeniable in effect. You cannot bottle Him, schedule Him, or chart His movements — but you can learn to work with Him instead of against Him. That's the daily art of the Spirit-led life.Working with the wind means holding plans loosely, listening before charging, noticing where God is already moving, and adjusting your approach to join Him. It means sensitivity — the same quiet attentiveness a still-hunter gives a shifting breeze. Check the wind today. The Spirit is moving somewhere in your life. Set up accordingly.Prayer:Holy Spirit, You move where You please — and too often I charge ahead without checking the wind. Make me sensitive to Your direction.Show me where You are already moving in my life, my family, and my work, and give me the humility to adjust my plans to join You. Amen.Challenge:Before making any significant decision this week, pause for a deliberate 'wind check': pray, 'Spirit, which way are You moving here?' — and wait long enough to actually listen before acting.
