Windsor Resident Leaves Due to Floods | Calgary News

A Windsor, Nova Scotia resident is packing up and leaving her home after five years of devastating flooding and sewage backups that have ruined her property and left her feeling abandoned by her community. Brown water mixed with toilet paper and waste floods her street during rain, forcing her to spend thousands in repairs — all while the aging town infrastructure can’t handle the strain. Other residents have lost cars, bikes, and appliances. The mayor acknowledges her departure with sympathy, noting a $142 million plan to separate sewer and stormwater pipes — but she sees it as too little, too late. While the town moves forward with costly diversion projects and provincial funding, she’s ready for a fresh start, free from the constant battle against nature’s wrath.
