Wine Trailblazer Iris Duplantier Rideau

Louisiana native Iris Duplantier Rideau became the first Creole Black woman to own a winery in the U.S. in October 1997.  Wine enthusiasts came far and wide to Rideau Vineyard for wines crafted that include viognier, roussanne and pinot noir. She shares her journey of making history in her newly released book, "From White to Black: One Life Between Two Worlds" that is a powerful account of her life from New Orleans to California and life changing events throughout the years that have informed who she is today. Host Sheree Williams talks with Iris about life as a child in Louisiana and California and the life experiences that both changed her and helped to make her the proud Black woman she is today.
