Trying harder to become godly can leave Christians feeling heavy and helpless. Romans 8 begins with no condemnation for those who trust Jesus, so killing sin cannot earn forgiveness or eternal life. Instead, the Spirit enables forgiven Christians to put sinful deeds to death and enjoy more of the comfort, energy and hope of life with Christ now.
