Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. In many parts of the country this winter has brought with it bitter cold temperatures along with plenty of snow. At GM, Emergency Services Outreach Leader Mitch Petterson says there are some basic steps to take to stay safe. First, of course, is to stay off of the roads during heavy snows. But when it is clear enough to drive, make sure you have a full tank of gas…or a full charge for EVs. And…“We’re going to have to make sure we have our car completely cleared off. So if we’ve got snow and ice on the car, this is not a time when we scrape a little hole in the windshield so we can see and start driving. We want to clear all the glass. Headlights and tail lights as well. And if we get out on the roads, our driving is going to be different. We’re going to behave differently in these conditions.
