Folks, step outside in the city right now and you're feeling 27 degrees. That 9 degrees.4 inches from yesterday? Still on the ground. Still slick. Wind out of the northwest at 16 miles an hour makes it feel like 13. Black ice is hiding on untreated roads, so take it slow this morning. Now jump up to Albany. A brutal 13 degrees. Central New York? Syracuse is sitting at 13 too, with snow showers firing up by 5 A.M. And sticking around through noon. You could see an inch or two there. Meanwhile, out in Buffalo, a dusting hit around 5 A.M. By 7 A.M., winds shift west and temps start climbing from 11 degrees toward the upper 20s. The real story hits overnight. A clipper system sweeps in like a compact snow machine. City snow arrives around 1 A.M., peaks near 4 A.M. Maybe an inch. But here's the twist.. Temps rise to 36 degrees by 5 A.M. Snow could flip to rain by dawn. Albany's snow rolls in around 2 A.M. One to two inches by morning, with temps crawling from 12 to 20 by 6 A.M. Watch for snow squalls Wednesday afternoon near the Capital District. Sudden whiteouts. They're brief but dangerous. Western New York, you're in the bullseye. Two to four inches by Wednesday morning south of Buffalo. Tug Hill? Four to seven inches by Thursday. That Winter Weather Advisory is earned. Wednesday brings a warmup. City hits 42 degrees. Albany 38. Then the rollercoaster keeps rolling. Thursday cools back to the 30s. Friday stays quiet near 40. Saturday is the gem.. Mid 40s statewide. Soak that in. Sunday? Cold crashes back.
