De winterslaap is voor dieren een periode van minimale activiteit. Hun lichaamstemperatuur en hartslag gaat stevig naar beneden. Soms is dat extreem. Bij de arctische grondeekhoorn, die normaal een lichaamstemperatuur heeft van 37 graden, daalt die in de winterslaap tot -2 graden. Annelies Jacobs van Natuurpunt is onze gaste.
