from Petersfield's Shine Radio · host Petersfield's Shine Radio
Petersfield drama group, the Winton Players, is almost 80 years old and Penny Young has been involved with them for nearly 60 of those years. She speaks to Mike Waddington about her time with Winton, acting, directing (she has directed 18 for them) and is on the team that searches for plays (she'd love to stage an Ibsen) but is also at home with the Artful Bodgers, who make the scenery, in The Hut in Sheet, where the group is based. She talks abut how she became involved and playing opposite her husband to be in 1972 in an Oscar Wilde play. She maintain that audiences want to be entertained and the most important person is the playwright. More at Home | Winton PlayersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
