On February 28th, Wisconsin pulled off a strong 90-73 win over Washington in college basketball action. Braden Carrington came off the bench for a career-best 32 points, sinking nine three-pointers on 15 tries. Nick Boyd chipped in 22 points to lead the Badgers. The Badgers jumped out early with a 14-3 lead and never looked back, holding a 15-point halftime edge before stretching it further.
With a big run in the second half, Carrington dominated after the break, scoring 23 points there alone. Washington got solid efforts from freshman Hannah Steinbach with 22 points and 11 rebounds for his 18th double-double this season, plus 21 from Zoom Diallo. Still, the Huskies struggled to keep pace against Wisconsin's hot shooting. The Badgers drained 17 of 38 shots from beyond the arc, right around their usual volume.
At halftime, Washington honored legend Detlef Schrempf by retiring his number 22 jersey. Wisconsin sits at 20 wins and nine losses overall, 12-6 in the Big Ten, with a home date against Maryland midweek before facing number. Eight Purdue to close the regular season. The Huskies host USC next, then head to Oregon.
