Wisconsin state Sen. Pfaff on no "no tax on tips" and state budget

Wisconsin state Sen. Brad Pfaff was in the WIZM studio this week. We talked about the budget process, the missing “no tax on tips” bill, other priorities he’d like to get done, and a few things UW-La Crosse.  We began the show on the state budget process, and how Republicans scheduled just four listening sessions. Pfaff (D-Onalaska) himself, along with area Assembly Democrats had at least five local listening sessions throughout the 32nd district. Pfaff also noted Republicans pulled Gov. Tony Evers’ “no tax on tips” out of his budget — something he’d like to get done and we talked about a couple different times. We also discussed other priorities of Pfaffs — bills he’d like to see passed on capping insulin costs, tax relief, economic development and housing. Pfaff also said he would be creating a resolution to recognize the UW-La Crosse gymnastics team for winning a National Title. That led to a conversation about Republicans holding up Phase II of the Prairie Springs Science Center, which is the No. 1 priority for the Universities of Wisconsin. The science building initially would have cost around $90 million if the Scott Walker administration wouldn’t have split it in two. Now it will cost over $200 million. Lastly, we discussed taxes in general and how Pfaff would like to get rid of certain parts of the state property tax.
