Wisconsin’s New Athletic Powerhouse | Wisconsin Badgers Football News

Wisconsin just unveiled its most ambitious athletic upgrade yet—the $285 million Kellner Family Athletic Center, a game-changing indoor hub designed to revolutionize training for all sports, not just football. Named after major donors Ted and Mary Kellner, whose initial $20 million gift launched the project, this state-of-the-art facility features a full indoor football field convertible for other sports, plus a five-lane track—all crucial for a landlocked university with limited space. The Kellners, longtime supporters behind iconic projects like Kohl Center and Camp Randall, are pouring their biggest investment yet into Wisconsin’s athletic future. Phase two, set for completion by 2028, will add weight rooms, locker rooms, dining, and sports medicine spaces—creating a holistic athlete ecosystem. Over 300 donors, including 35 giving $1M+, rallied behind this vision, proving that collective passion can build legacy-level infrastructure for generations of student-athletes.
