Wisdom's Daughter Chapter 9 - Dagon Takes His Sacrifice

In which the daughter of Isis witnesses the dreadful sacrificial rites of Sidon, where the king offers his own child to the fiery god Dagon amidst a frenzied multitude, stirring within her a fierce resolve against such cruelty. She then encounters Beltis, a noble Jewess mother, whose grief and wrath unite with her own in a solemn bond to challenge the ruthless king and the dark customs of his people.
