BBC SATURDAY NIGHT THEATRE: Witch Wood In this 1990 BBC radio adaptation of the 1927 historical novel by John Buchan (BUCK-un), set in 17th-century Scotland, a young minister, David Sempill, confronts religious extremism, civil war, and pagan rituals in a rural parish. Buchan is well-remembered as the author of the novel "The 39 Steps", adapted several times for both cinema, and radio.
