WITH LOVE
from Terry Naylor · host Terry Naylor
In the Student Union at Liverpool Uni in the early 80s, there was a room called The McAusland Lounge, which had a grand piano in it. It was in this room that I mis-spent a great deal of my degree education, learning how to play it and making up songs on it. With Love is one of those songs. I think that at the time, I was influenced by the West Coast, Laurel Canyon writers, Stephen Bishop in particular. McCartneyesque baseline , as usual. With Love Ripples on the ocean of my mind Emotions that I find Taking possession of my soul Leaving me one goal It's you and I don't know how you do what you do But feelings that go through me With love that you give to me Hold me in time forever Each moment we're together With love Waves upon the beaches of my heart The reach is never far Rivers running through me from my eyes And never running dry Oh no and it's always back to you that they flow Pushing and shoving and laughing at nothing Nobody knows what it's like to be us Seeing ourselves not as others see us
