Wizard Lake Beach Closed Due to Unsafe Water | Calgary News

Edmonton’s Wizard Lake beach is off-limits right now—Alberta Health Services just issued a safety alert after detecting dangerous bacteria levels, making the water unsafe for swimming, wading, or even accidental contact. Don’t risk stomach bugs, skin infections, or ear/eye irritations; this advisory stays in effect until further notice. And remember: never drink or cook with untreated lake or river water in Alberta, even when no warning is posted. Stay cool, stay safe.
