While Tuesday will see mainly rain, Wednesday could bring one of the biggest snowfalls in almost two years to the D.C. area. There’s predictions that the biggest snowfall in two years will sweep across the D.C. region starting Tuesday night. Throughout Tuesday, the first day of spring, there will be widespread rainfall. “Rain will be likely to fall throughout the day as temperatures fall into the mid-30s,” said Storm Team4 Meteorologist Chuck Bell. “As things turn colder, a long period of rain/sleet and sleet/snow will be possible this afternoon into this evening.” Bell said that most of the D.C. area will just stay wet most of Tuesday, although the Shenandoah Valley could see sleet and snow start to accumulate before sunset.
