Woe Is Thee

Date: 10.02.28 Speaker: Kris Martens Texts: Luke 11:37-54 Title: Woe Is Thee Throughout history men & women have sought to hide their hearts from Jesus while putting on the appearance that all is well. While this may fool some people, it never fools Jesus. He relentlessly pursues our hearts with his tenacious, ferocious love. He gently addresses those who approach him in humility & brokenness - but to those who approach with religion and put up barriers to His life - Jesus goes Old Testament. In this sermon we'll look at Jesus and some religious leaders & teachers. It'll be a contrast between the burden & drudgery of religion and the grace & joy of the Gospel. My prayer is that it leads to repentance - for those who struggle with sin & for those who struggle with religion. The cross of Christ is big enough for both - and His grace is deep enough to transform the most broken, and most religious sinner.
