Był współtwórcą i dyrektorem serwisu "Sport.pl"; z-cą redaktora naczelnego „Gazety Wyborczej” a w końcu jej dyrektorem wydawniczym. Od kilku lat zajmuje się pisaniem książek o górach, które kocha. Sam wspinał się w Tatrach i Dolomitach. Wędrował przez Himalaje, Góry Atlasu, Patagonię. Współautor książek „Polskie Himalaje” „Lekarze w górach” i „GOPR na każde wezwanie”, które napisał z Jerzym Porębskim. Na swoim profilu na Facebooku Wojtek Fusek zamieszcza swoje teksty publicystyczne i komentarze.
