Woman dies after driver loses control of truck on icy Port Richmond road, slams head-on into her vehicle

A pickup truck loses control on an ice-covered road in Port Richmond and strikes another vehicle, killing the driver inside in a head-on collision. Philadelphia police say that a black 2007 Nissan Titan was speeding northbound on Aramingo near East Tioga Street around 2 am this morning...that's when police say the driver lost control on the icy road, crossing into the southbound lane, striking a silver 2007 Volkswagen Jetta head-on. ... SEPTA's Trenton Regional Rail line is suspended until further notice after a man was struck and killed by a train early this afternoon. A SEPTA spokesperson told KYW Newsradio that the man trespassed onto the tracks between Bristol and Croydon stations on the line before being struck. The line remains closed as authorities continue to investigate the incident. Riders using the line are asked to find alternate routes to their destinations. ... A man was shot and killed in North Philly in what police are describing as a shootout late yesterday afternoon. Police say officers heard gunshots around 20th and Susquehanna Streets JUST before 5:00 yesterday. When they arrived, the police say they found a 35-year-old who had been shot several times, including in his abdomen.
